Our Journey to date
in 1987 Richard Jowett entered the glamorous world of PPE,site supplies and cleaning hygiene distribution, having previously engaged in the distribution of fixings and fasteners. The same disciplines different products.
By 1990 Richard had progressed into more senior roles supporting Regional and National contractors with their needs and challenges. Further progression followed and he moved into senior management roles engaged in all aspects of the supply chain and operational functions.
In 2012 Richard identified a gap had appeared and that the small and medium enterprises had become vulnerable as they were no longer supported by the established distributors of PPE and workplace consumables and established C R Safety and Consumable Supplies to plug this hole.
Initially working from a 7.5 tonne mobile unit, kitted out as a trade counter he took selective products to the users so they could make informed choices whilst continuing to be productive at their workplace. Very quickly the need for warehouse space became necessary and a 2500 sq foot facility was leased. A further 2 premise moves were required to facilitate the increasing product range until more recently,2019 the company purchased their current facility in Accrington, which provides 8500 sq foot of space.
